We’ve hoped that we would be able to return to some sort of normal soon, but it’s safe to say that it will probably be a while yet. With no activities to publicize or report on, we’ve decided to put the monthly newsletter on hiatus. We will, instead, post updates and happenings on our website and Facebook page, something that doesn’t affect our bank balance. The monthly cost of the newsletter is not huge, but we also have no income at the moment.
We know that not all of our members are on the internet, but we are trying to be fiscally responsible. If you have friends in the Lodge who you know are not web-savvy, please keep them informed. Better yet, show them how easy it is to access us with a smartphone or tablet.
It would be great if, once we are back up and operating, we could do away with our printed newsletter. It doesn’t cost anything to put together the digital version. Print version? Even if we could print it in-house, there is still the cost of paper, ink, labels, postage, plus people to process each piece. We are still printing 125 copies each month. Only a few of those are kept as handouts to visitors. The rest are going to members and widows. Please consider going digital when we are back up and running.
Reminder — we still have ENF Reverse Raffle tickets available. Open or closed, the raffle will still take place on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Send us a check and we’ll send you the tickets. Remember, there will be only 200 tickets sold ($20 each) and the top prize is $1000.00.
